Streaming Worlds
(TGA School Assignment)
Level Streaming Project
This is a project where i practiced UE4 Level streaming.
The goal was to have smooth transitions between 9 unique zones and never have more than 3 zones rendered at a time
Flying Islands
(TGA School Assignment)
Made using UE4, Practicing Vertex Painting
Meshes done in Blender
Foliage from various free marketplace packs
Three connected flying islands with wizard tower, barn and magic pond.
Alpha
During the alpha phase of this project I started with the island meshes, I made those using blender.
Then I did a basic blockout with box brushes in Unreal. I created a large stair set to the smallest island and a bridge to the larges island also using Blender.
When I had a blockout i was happy with I started experimenting with vertex painting in unreal to texture the islands with paths, grass and rocks. I finished the alpha phase with adding the water features and adding the background.
Beta
During the beta I made meshes for the buildings as well as trims to use later.
Then I proceeded to place foliage, tweaking some post-process settings, materials
and improving a bit on the water features.
Gold
During the gold phase I focused on the main island. Adding trims to the buildings to get more depth and detail.
Filled out some empty spaces with more foliage and rocks. I also added some picnic tables, barrels and hay bales making sort of a party area having suddenly been abandoned. Kind of like the Party tree in The Shire.
